West Michigan Mackinac Island Honor Scout Service Camp 2018

Posted on Feb 5 2018 - 12:37pm

Local Scout Troop 290 has invited any Star-ranked Scouts and higher to join them in filling the West Michigan Mackinac Island Honor Guard the week of June 9-16, 2018. Mackinac honor guard is an exciting opportunity for Scouts in Michigan to provide service to the community, and to have a once in a lifetime trip to explore the island and all the secrets it holds. Activities like biking around the island, traveling downtown, exploring the trails with friends, seeing iconic landmarks, and so much more. This is accompanied by an opportunity to provide service to the Michigan State Historic Parks. Scouts get to explore for a whole week, live in the Fort Mackinac Scout Barracks, take responsibility for raising all the state park flags and also serving as guides for the guests on the island. Less than 1% of Scouts in Michigan get this opportunity to participate in the honor guard.

Every scout's learning style and commitment to the process is different but I am telling you from experience you have to read and follow directions of the process.  Which is outlined in the 13 steps and in your rank requirements.
